Just wondering when is a good time to take a look at the reed pedals. SRX has 8,000 miles on factory reeds.
Thanks

I would be looking at them now. You may find them chipping away in the corners. Carbon fiber reeds or stock are good. Carbon fiber reeds are Supposed to give better throttle response and one or two horsepower.
My stock reeds were chipping away in the corners at around 7000 miles. I replaced them with the carbon fiber reeds.

I have a new set of OEMs in the plastic I won from the football contest a few years back. I think it's time as well.
Thanks for the info

I'm replacing mine now, they really don't last too long. I check mine every fall when I clean my carbs
8000 miles? Nothing to think about, just replace them.

Probably good advice. I'm at 11 500 miles on mine and they still look new, and running strong...but nothing wrong with such tight maintenance schedules either. Being pro active generally always pays off.
