just got back from riding wifes xt 500 it has a clutch problum,when its cold it is fine after it gets hot if you come too a stop it done want too go unless you really get after it ,at stop hot the belt sqwheels it goes ok if you run it at 8 grand all the time but wife don't ride that way,primary has all new bushings and sides set up buy chris (air) vensent so i would think that it would be rite any help would be great thanks

If he set it up, you should take it right back to him. Sounds like something isn't right at all.
one thing I thought of, is if you're locking up the track to come to a stop. Sometimes you'll still be on the gas, and this locks the secondary in an upshifted position. The belt will be low in the secondary, requiring alot of rpm to get the primary to even touch the belt. Something to look for at least.
The other thing I thought of, if you've got new slides and your track is set to factory tension, you could be heating them up to the point that the clips melt into the slides.
Make sure your wife is getting into the ditches where some loose snow is on a regular basis, as my wife wasn't aware and confident enough to at first. Something else to think about...

the weights are the same no inturale changes too clutch i did put on a electric start kit should not affect it i would think,did find that center to center was off adjusted as far as it would go got 10.5 center to center did have too shim up front motor mounts too get this mounts may have saged some it's has 6500 miles,not recked,or moded,just kind of stuck on what too do next

If you haven't already, check your primary weights for waves or grooves. It is fairly common for them to wear like that.
It sounds like the primary is binding/sticking, 8000 is too high for a 500. Just my $0.02.

With that kind of miles, it's time to go through the primary. A new center bushing and sliders, might need to bushings in the rollers and weights, or replace both with hop up items. I can recommend ya to a hot set up...hehe
