I know the old fairing pod style Phazers were around 56HP stock (for racing reasons in the day) and a good pipe like an AAEN quiet can or a PSI single was good for 12-14HP. When they put this engine in the trailing arm VMax chassis in 1999 the first thing I noticed was the smooth transition looking stock pipe, gone was the heavy old stove can pipe from the previous models.
I always wondered what HP these had, did Yamaha bump it up being the pipe was altered? We all knew there was HP left on the table from the old factory pipe. I never rode one of these models but owned a couple of the older ones that I piped. I have googled the heck out of this question and did see one person post they were around 67 HP but not totally sure?
Any thoughts?

Guess I should have looked further. Apparently they left a a few HP on the table.

Not to mention this belonged in the other Yamaha sleds category. My bad!
