I recently rode a friends 97sx700 with USI skis. It definitely has excessive darting. We rode apx 700 miles this last week and I could tell he was struggling with it. He was falling back and I was riding my 79 et340. I know the skis can be shimmed but how is this accomplished? I tried it once on my vmax4 with glue and wood shims but they only lasted a weekend before falling out. Also, are their better skis and or carbides that could reduce this problem.

I use a piece of old slide for a shim, cut to fit, usually 1/8" to 1/4" thick. fasten it to the back side of the ski bumper with a strong glue like E6000 and a couple of small screws.

Also make sure the skis are not excessively toed out. Spec from Yamaha is 0 to 12mm toe out
