New to the site, I Apologize if I'm not doing this correctly...
I am currently working on a 2001 SX700R. Sled runs perfectly fine, just does not have any electrical power, no lights, no hand warmers, no gauges......I've done some research under google and found that there is a common problem with the wire harness under the engine, I checked that, I have 14.5volts at the regulator while running......I have removed the seat and tank and checked the tail light harness to make sure that wasn't shorted....I removed the handle bar pad and checked for damaged wiring, everything has checked out, I noticed that are two capacitors next to the regulator, idk if there is a way to test them??....Please Help! about ready to pull my hair out. As you can tell by the name, I'm a Polaris guy, just looking at this sled for a friend. Thanks for you time!!

That sure sounds like a relay to me. When it's cold my 01 Mountainmax has nothing until the relay gets warmed up. Eventually they go bad.

ok, I see that this sled has two of them....not sure what one is for what....not very cheap either....I wonder if they will match up with an automotive Relay?? I matched one up for a Skidoo last year from the local auto parts store for a fraction of the price...

Just wanted to update this, I installed a new relay, matched it up with one from the local auto parts store. (the black one, not the blue one) and now the electrical works. Thanks norwegian!!!
