Looking at a low mileage 02 700 triple Venture for a trail cruizer. It has the red head triple and I was wondering if it is the same engine/hp a the 02 SRX.
That is a entirely different beast.. 02 SRX is a triple piped motor that makes close to 140HP and the red head 700 is like 110hp single pipe.

Thanks. 110hp is plenty for 2-up groomed trail cruizing. Mostly interested in reliability and fuel economy. The red head SRX has a good rep for both. Hopefully the single piped Venture is the same or better.
the red head in the venture is the same motor in the vmax 700, xtc 700 and sx700r. all the yamaha 2 stroke tripples are pretty good on gas.

sounds like the sxr and srx are being confused here? Red Head srx?
