Took the 94 VMax out for a 20km run today. It used way more oil that normal and was pouring out blue smoke. Only had the sled for a few months. I read somewhere that there was a recall on the original oil pumps on the VMax 600. This one looks to be an original 94 based on the service manual. Wondering if the original pumps used to fail wide open? Hoping someone will recall this issue.
Recalls are only for safety issues. The pump on the 97's was replaced under warranty IF they were using to much oil.
Simply order a new pump or find a used updated version. Identifiable by the markings 8cr-02 on the arm.

If my memory is correct when they fail they go wide open.
