2001 MM 700 ignition switch

Ignition switch is toast on my mountain max as the key is hard to turn and engine cuts out sometimes. Anyone know if say a 2000 ignition switch with key will work on a 2001?

if the plug is the same it will. Is that what you are asking?

It shows a 2000 with a 8AB prefix and a 2001 with a 8DM.
So it says they are different.
Thats the year the stator changed I think.

I forgot about that, your right they went to dual headlight too..

Thanks guys. I have a new one ordered but it wont be here for 2 weeks. I tried unplugging the ignition connector to bypass the key and it won't start. Anyway to get this thing going for a bit until the new ignition switch shows up?
