Hi Viper fans. I love the Vipers but issue with 2004 Sx Viper. No spark. I also have 2002Viper ER and 2005 Viper, both running fine. Troubleshooting the 2004.... Disconnected load relay, tested stator, pickup, ingnition coils and kill circuit seem ok. Took CDI from 2004, tried in 2002ER and it works!, BUT put 2004 cdi in 2005 and NO spark... Scared to try known working cdi from 2002 and 2005 in the non working 2004 especially before christmas in fear something in 2004 caused issue with cdi? Any help out there?
04 and 05 would be the same cdi. the 02 and 03 would be different.
its likely the pulse coil, mounted to case , take off recoil and see if magnets are rusty on flywheel. if not checkpulse coil, highly likely its that over the cdi. the reason cdi is differnt is due to the dcs system that came out on 2004 viper.
