One question :

What are the 2 electrical wires that go to the carb. for ??

tors.... throttle override system its for safety if slides freeze up and cause full throttle it will not let it rev up through ignition system

I am sorry I didn't say the sled is a 1986(did they have such a thing back then?), the switch is broken and it seems when you give it gas it dies (then backfires)!

Carb is off sled - should I replace switch (do I really need it??) Should switch be closed(shorted) to run?

Also where can I find a :
8R4-47541-00-00
HOUSING, CHAIN
The one on there has a big hole in the top and back (chain was way too loose)
Used would be great (found one at ronnies' for $150.00)

you can bypass but... safety is a good reason not too try soldering two wires from carb together it should run
