New to Yamaha never had a machine with power valves before either. But am pretty mechanically inclined. So just purchased this 98 srx 600. Cleaned and adjusted the pvs. Fire up the sled and crack it open the servo opens the pvs but doesn't let them go back until it dies and you turn it back by hand. Looking for some direction please. Could the servo just be bad?

Do the cables spring back if you pull them with pliers?

That's strange. They are controlled by the CDI box, but I guess its possible that one of the directions in the motor may not be working. Or also check continuity between servo motor and CDI. Should be five wires.
Also make sure the single wire is plugged into the proper wire, I've seen before where it wasn't, and was plugged into one of the throttle safety switch wires.
