Helping a buddy last night, servicing his kids sled. Upon completion, he fired it, with the elec start, and I noticed arching / sparking between the exhaust springs and exhaust at the manifold. (Starter is directly below). Once sled was running it went away.
Any suggestions? Assuming a bad ground from engine block somewhere.

yup, sounds like a bad ground from chassis to engine. i usually add one from base plate to frame when they get older to eliminate any running issues from a bad ground.
