Bought a couple of Exciters that have been abandoned for some time, a 93 which I have cleaned up and got running. An 88 which is quite a bit of a different animal. I've had both models gen 1 and gen !!, years ago. This 88 model has the older style carbs which had some kind of a power jet, hose running from the bottom of the float bowl, to intake horn. Seems I recall completely bypassing this on my older Exciter, will likely use getting on the 93, and do so with these. Also carbs didn't have the "baffle" surrounding the main jet, will likely see if I can adapt that. One of the previous owners/neglectors removed the oil pump, I believe I have one from parts so that won't be much of a problem. But if you have some info on updating those carbs, I'd appreciate it. Seems I plugged up the nipple in the float bowl and the intake bell feed with JB weld in the past, just wondering if there is something else I'm overlooking.
This is probably more trouble than it is worth, but it keeps me out of trouble.
