Yamaha Factory Turbo

I heard from a dealer that Yamaha is coming out with a factory turbo as an accessory. Did anyone else hear the same???
 

I've been hearing turbo rumblings for a while now...like for 07...but who knows. I know for sure they are testing it...like all the serious sled guys there have turbos on their RX's...time will tell.
 
fuel injecton makes it ALOT easier for them to offer a turbo kit, no tuning of carbs required as they could just send a different computer with to control the fuel injection. ON THE OTHER HAND factory EFI is going to be a BARE to work around for the aftermarket compainies as they will have to "crack" the code for the yamaha EFI computer so they will be able to offer "calibrations" for the turbo kits.
 
the tuning thing won't be a problem if Yamahas nice to us and make it like a bike box

yea they have had motorcycle ignition box's available for a few years for racing
 
No, thats not what I meant, on some of the injected bikes. You can jump the ecu, and the tach becomes a diagnostic unit. You can adjust the injector volume individually from the buttons on the tach. Also, there are numerous companies that make piggyback boxes which give you the ability to do the same.
