Water pump seals.

Hey guys okay I admit I goofed by not taking a picture back in November when I tore down my 600 triple! Water pump mechanical seal placement? I have the oil seal in against the snap ring, then there is a small ceramic seal ,which way does the ceramic side go? In the parts fische it doesn't show it. Also what's the trick to install the mechanical seal and what can I use?
 

Just use a socket that lines up with the outer metal lip of the mechanical seal and tap it in lightly with a hammer. Place the ring with the "ceramic" (might actually be nylon) into the impeller with the white side facing the mechanical seal.
 
Thanks guys, also I read that some put a bit of sealer on the rubber side of the ceramic seal that goes against the impeller, leave it or put a dab of sealant?
