Can I cut a 16 inch track to 15 inch and still have it last years without falling apart ?

I picked up a 1.25 ripsaw and it’s mint brand new studs payed 250 and got it home to realize it’s 16 inch wide should I cut it down and run it or is that not smart will it fall apart ?

Yes you can cut it. I cut a 136x16x1.25 ripsaw track down to 15 wide. I used a sharp knife. Half inch on each side. This was for a venture 600 I had.
