97 vmax 600 Exhaust question

I have a 97 600 vmax xtc.
I see someone has removed the internals for the fat piece of the exhaust.Could it hurt anything if i run it like that.Seems to run fine, just dont want to burn it down.

how do the plugs look? sounding like they took all the baffles out of the muffler if it is the stock big one.

Yes its the stock pipe, the big one just after the y-pipe.
When do i check plugs to get accurate reading.

Those pieces inside usually fall apart on their own as the sled ages with miles.

you check the plugs at idle, after an extended run at mid throttle and after a good wot tear. need to shut down at the throttle position you are checking at. ideal is a darker cardboard brown.
