Hey guys first off I'd like to thank you all in advance for any help I can get on this...
So my buddy calls me and tells me he's picked up an old Srx- that's been built by someone else.. it appears to be an srx, but it's long track and the tunnel looks like a venture tunnel, it has reverse but the rest looks like srx.. lol so I didn't pay nothing for this sled but I ended up with it because I didn't have one and my buddy and his wife thought I could ride with them! They ride the new expensive turbo sleds so they obviously didn't need this one.
So after going over there and actually looking it over I thought why not so we started cleaning her up and Inspected it and got it ready for a test ride.. the track is brand new. Engine exhaust seem to never been touched, all original as far as engine/pipes and can, 6700 miles. Starts right up new belt installed. Clutches cleaned. Carbs- untouched . Starts first to 2nd pull.. all lights work speedo tach hand warmers work.. and.... it has reverse lol..that works!!
First 40 mile ride:
After inspections we took the sled for a decent 40 mile ride and wow!!! She is fast.. as fast as I remember in 2002 when my buddy bought his second (02) srx 700!!! Man was this thing fast. Sled ran beautifully the whole ride until we hit a section of trail that was really bad and I bent the rear axle and lost 3 rear axle wheels. Parts are on order..
So I guess my main reason for posting this is I need help!! I need help figuring out what I have. I dont know what's been done here but it was definitely a lot of work and whoever did it did a decent job because everything works and it runs awesome. So can anyone chime in on this build? Would anyone know how long it possibly can be I just do t know what's what im new to this.
