I've recently noticed that when I plug my visor in the headlight will dim a bit at idle on my 98 SRX,also I been having problems with the thumb warmer not working right.I tested the resistance in the coils on the mag and they are within spec and so is the thumb warmer but I would like to know if there's another mag off a newer SRX that might fit,one with more output?The headlight bulb is stock wattage and the visor is the only accessory drain on the system so I'm not sure if I can do anything other than just live with it.I have a means of having the stator rewound vs new($340 Can approx) but dont know if this will cure my problem.

Try putting a led tail light bulb in it, that could free up some electricity.

a newer, high output stator wont fit without some case machining and swapping of parts. You could get the stator rewound, they have ways of getting more out of them.

who does re-winding? i am in need of a stator also and don't want to pay the big money yamaha wants for them.. any suggestions on where to get one rewound would great.
ask around. some one has to do them for dirt bikes close to you. i think it was posted on here awhile back or on grizzlyinfo connected to a light thread.

clean you leads on your electronic boxes and stuff - they get rusty - if you pull on an open trailer, is worse!!! NO OPEN TRAILERS!!!
