Has anyone tried running only two drive sprockets and two rear wheels . removing out side sprocket and wheels reduce some rolling resistance and mass and gain a couple of mph ?thinking of trying it . this is on a 2001 srx with speed track .

Not sure about have 2 drive wheels, but should work for your application.
The 1997 700 SX came with just smooth wheels on the outside, no cogs. So that could be another option.
On my XTC, I have an aftermarket billet axel and 2 wheels on it. Has no outers.
You can see it here. The wheels are all just a bit oversized as well.
