I finally found some Bender Triples but they’re in really poor shape and I got kinda taken on them unfortunately. Ya live ya learn they say? IDK. ☹️
They are at Race Coatings in MN currently being blasted and patched by Clinton (shoutout) and I'm super pumped on them being "saved". He called and described these as "like stage 4 cancer." I feel like an idiot buying them so rough but I've wanted pipes for my old reliable forever now...

These are my first triple pipes I've ever purchased and I've now owned my SX 700 for about 12yrs now.
Today I picked up some 47.5 pilots and will be ordering 150 mains. My sled has high miles but has Carbon Tech reeds, single layer head gasket and is geared 21/40 at the moment. It has Turks clutching and a stock secondary.

What else will I need to RELIABLY run these pipes mainly on the trails? I'm in Southern WI but will be riding the sled in Northern WI and maybe UP is all. So, what springs will I need to buy and anything else I should replace when I mount them? Also where to source an EGT gauge for the new bungs he will be welding in?
Thanks guys you're all awesome! Cheers to another year on this forum, haha.

I love my Bender pipes on my SX. I run stock gearing, 89L weights, 147.5 mains, 1 layer head gasket.
Probably the most responsive sled I have.

I'm running 152.5 mains and 55 pilots with the screws 1.5 turns out. I have ported jugs though, so you will likely be fine. Just do plug checks before screaming off. I've hung up my triple triple after getting everything in working order last winter. Except for the occasional deep ditch ride, its just wayyyy too loud with the bender pipes and stingers. I wear ear plugs if I'm going on a ride. Sucks, because I want to rip the sled, but don't want to get a noise ticket or cause landowner issues.

Can you share a photo of your springs and how they should all be on these pipes? Last thing I want to do is have them vibrate themselves to death or something.

Bummer. Are these considered “stingers” where they collect or do you have different pipes than mine altogether? I still have to order some #150 mains. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah that dump collection welded together with a plate are the three stingers. I tried repacking mine late last season but I think it just made them louder as I wasn't able to get as much fiberglass in there as I took out. I don't hesitate to hit some ditches and play, but I am certainly hesitant to go on a cruise on the trails, at least through higher traffic areas and closer to homes. I suppose it would depend on how folks and the DNR are in your area, and what kind of trails you have.

Boy, mine are not that loud at all. I also have the 3 stingers in one pack. Either you have very sensitive ears, or something is totally wore out, lol.
I have sleds with Bender, CPR, and SLP pipes, none of them are really any louder than the other, and for sure not loud enough to be a nuisance.

No leaks anywhere in the pipes or stingers. Anything above about 6k rpm and it is LOUD. Certainly too loud for DNR in MN. I rode 40 miles on a little lunch trip last year and my ears were ringing for the rest of the night.

I've always wondered how folks still ride triple triples on trails without getting in trouble with the law.

Here is a link to pics of my SX build
I dont think there are any pics of the springs in here, but will see if I can find any for you.

Easy, move one state to the west where we dont have a bunch of Democrats making up BS regulations for things that dont matter.
Problem solved!

I got the pipes back from ceramic coating and tons of patch work and I’m super excited. Didn’t install them quite yet still waiting on my manifolds to arrive from the coater. If anyone can help me with where springs all are meant to go and what not fitment wise that’d be super helpful.

I now have 52.5 pilots and 150 mains to go in as per Bender specs. From what I read I still need 89-L primary weights and a 51/47 helix for the secondary. My dad’s SX-R 700 has a bender helix on it I may swap assuming it’s indeed a 51/47? I have no idea how to tell that. Thanks guys!
