My wife has a 2000 vmax 700 deluxe. Went to start it this year and no spark. Tested kill switch and TORS. Both perfect. When I crank it over with electric start, I get a glow from the headlight but no no spark. Magnet on fly wheel rusty. Could that be it? Cheers

And how did it quit? Did it die while running or just fail to start since the last time running?

Rust will do it. Start there
Went to bed running and this fall I have no spark. Outside flywheel had rust on it. Removed and cleaned. Not the problem. How do I test the stator? Tors checked out good and so did the kill switch. What's next

Charge coil brown to black/red about 435 ohms.
Cranking AC voltage about 200
Pickup coil white/red to white/green about 210 ohms

All 2000 and up had dues.... 
not on the twins. 485 air cool, 500cc and 600 cc liquids all had single bulb headlamp. owned 01 sx500r.All 2000 and up had dues....
Only the 2000 SRX had the dual bulb system.
