Bah.. took carbs off, valves off last weekend, cleaned it all up, replaced all the lines to and from fuel pump....well not it runs shittier than before i took it apart.
It'll idle really weird, kinda like uhh.. then spike up about 1000 rpm, die down, spike up.... then i start to drive it.. it feels like a twin! no snap to it, AT ALL! worse than a twin even.. will still do 70ish, takes about 4x the time of a normal srx to get goin that fast... occasionally will backfire.. also smokes a LOT LOT LOT when riding... any ideas:S

check your powervalve servo and see if it is functioning when you hammer the gas. lift the rear end and hit the gas and see if the servo is pulling the valves.

Sounds to me like you've got a dead cylinder, it's doing exactly what you said it feels like, running on 2 cylinders.

Your not getting fuel - where do you live - ?? Im in s. w. michigan - maby you can drop it by or i'll stop if your near - seems like its a basic problem - just need to know what to look for. air - fuel - spark - and compression is all a 2 stroke needs.
Just me thinking, have you checked your fuel pump? Maybe it is not working properly and is not suppling enough gas to the carbs. On an old pul-my-arse(polaris) that i had the pull cord rubbed thru the vac line for the fuel pump.
