Anyone else have one of these sleds and able to mount some sort of extra cargo rack to it?

I've been using my VT600 for ice fishing, but sure would be nice to have a storage rack to mount rods, livescope, auger, shovel etc.

My current set-up has nowhere to mount my livescope unit.

Also wanted to say thanks to this forum. ya'll walked me through the entire skid rebuild of this sled a few years ago including all the set-backs I encountered. wouldn't be enjoying it without all your help!!

i think the seats where different on the older ventures. might have to make your own that uses plates to mount behind the tunnel mounting point for the back rest.

yeah that's the current plan - trying to imagination something together with my limited DIY prowess hahahah - think me one step up from zip ties and duct tape hahahah

in my head, i picture a 1/8" plate both sides to attach to the tunnel with the back rest and bumper mount bolts. peice of 1/8" plate again bent at 90 degrees to mount the tail light to that mounts to a ladder style looking bottom that is out far enough to sub in for the grab bar built out of 1" square stock with around 1/8" wall. i would put a plate on the bottom for some of the weirder stuff that can be carried. i would then make an upper hoop and mount it on legs of 4-6" tall off of the lower hoop. i would be prone to make it in steel as it is easier for me to work with over aluminum and it would have sharp looking 90 deg corners as i do not have acess to a bender to make the nice radius corners like the stocker would be. it would work though and i would not be scared to carry a full 5 gallon can if it was built this way.

good idea using the back rest mounting spots. maybe i can find someone local to build something for me - I've never worked with metal before. Might be fun to learn. Just as much "fun" as I had disassembling and re-assembling the skid a few years ago hahahahah

would this one work?

Well well guess what arrived in the mail... that rack!

Fits like a glove!

Just need to figure out which bolts these are... and touch up the paint and fix the missing mud flap bolt i found. And figure out how to re-locate the brake light.

Looking through the fiche now...

Have some holes to plug - probrably end up getting another tail-light base and drilling a small hole through the plastic instead of gallops of duct-seal hahahahah

I'd still have to un-bolt the rack to use any sort of rear-end jack. Needs to be modular lol
