I was wondering if someone could help me out whether or not the following is normal for a 2021 Yamaha Mountain Max 154 LE: I purchased the sled last month. I took it out for the first time a few days ago for a 1.7 miles of riding, (i punched it a few times, but most riding was 20-30 mph. Temp outside that day was about 38 degrees.). ( the temp light started blinking red and then turned solid red. The temp reached 170 degrees and I shut it down. It did this both times I took it out. There was not a lot of snow, maybe 8", so perhaps not enough snow was getting on the tunnel cooler. ( this was the explanation from the dealer). The coolest resovior was full. I have owned Yamahas for over 40 years and have never had a high temp warning, even when riding in warm weather, lack of snow ect. I guess the real Test will happen when I take this out for the official ride, with adequate snow. Any insight, solutions, or responses to help with this event would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It could be just not enough snow to toss at tunnel coolers. Or it could be an air bubble or leaky head gasket or stuck thermostat. Try bleeding air from the rear tunnel bleeder. Usually when head gasket goes it will either eat anti freeze or push combustion back into the system.

It was an air bubble in coolant line
