Have been searching for method to adjust oil pump metering. It seems that the pump on the 95 possibly 96 model twins are different from the 94 model. I have found directions on how to adjust the cable for the 94 and it has a couple of marks on the pump arm and body, but they don't appear on this 95 model I have. Some said to first adjust the throttle cable then insure that the "oil pump cable" has 1-2 mm free play at the throttle? But I can't seem to confirm this anywhere. At start up this thing puts out an awful lot of exhaust smoke.
With the price of 2 stroke oil, I'd like to be in the ballpark before and if we actually get snow to ride it on.

your info is correct. the adjustment for the oil pump is usually under a rubber boot in the middle of the cable. that is also where you check the free play.

Free play for the oil pump is a lot more than that. You can find the manual for that gen VMAX pretty easy and will go over the order you need to do for cable adjustments. Oil pump adjustments I believe are after throttle cable, choke and idle adjustments. Idk if I can post links here to the manual but, it will be super helpful to keep as a tab on your phone.
I replied to your other post about the oil pump a bit more. Your results will definitely vary so, don't just jump to gaps that myself or others are running
