First off Merry Christmas everyone.
So my question is my sled which is 02 srx hasn't been ran in about 7 years. I rebuilt the engine and have UT all back together. When I went to go start it, I can pull the recoil, but it seems hard to pull. I've never had this issue before. Any ideas?

Id pull the recoil off and check for corrosion under the flywheel.First off Merry Christmas everyone.

After I rebuilt the engine I also installed a new stator. And I remember the flywheel being fairly clean. I also checked to see if the brake was somehow locked up but it was not. I'm trying to rack my brain as to what else could be the issue!?

Also wanted to add that I don't have the secondary clutch mounted. But I have the primary clutch installed. And I can rotate the primary by hand and it turns just fine..After I rebuilt the engine I also installed a new stator. And I remember the flywheel being fairly clean. pull the plugs and leave belt off and see if motor turns over easy. If it does it all in that recoil.

I actually just took the recoil out of the slot in the cowl and that little metal holder attached to the chaincase. I took the plugs out and it pulls over fine..pull the plugs and leave belt off and see if motor turns over easy. If it does it all in that recoil.

I mean it pulls just fine now that I took the recoil out of that metal holder. It seems like something was making it bind up. Has anyone ever had that little metal guide bind up the recoil?
I have seen the dogs not fly out correctly and bind.I mean it pulls just fine now that I took the recoil out of that metal holder. It seems like something was making it bind up. Has anyone ever had that little metal guide bind up the recoil?

So I think the dogs were binding in my recoil which was causing the binding feeling. So I bought a different recoil and installed that. It seems to pull over easier. I just threw the pipes on not connected to the muffler. It seems really close to starting but it just pops. Not sure what the issue is.. any ideas??
Is it flooded now or maybe needs cylinders primmed with fuel.
