Hey guys my 02 Viper er is giving me problems with firing.
The main harness looks fine no sign of rub through.
When I crank it I get no spark. When I let go of the ignition it will fire once.
Then the next time it may or may not even do that .
Could this be a issue with the ignition switch or possibly the stator?
I've checked and rechecked every connection on the sled.
TIA

Could be stator, could be voltage regulator it could be harness under the motor has broken wire, lots of stuff. Almost need a service manual. Wire problems suck to trace.

Back in the day I had a 540 Vmax with the same issue and I got lucky and it was only the kill switch.
Other things to check:
-rust on inside of flywheel and or surface of stator poles
-stator pickup coil
-stator itself
There is also a white relay above the left footwell around the ecu that can cause issues but I think it cuts out the lights only....has been a long time...

Do a cranking AC volt test on the stator.Hey guys my 02 Viper er is giving me problems with firing.

I know your machine doesn't run, but just do this test cranking it over. What matters is all three loops give the same AC volts.

with it firing when you let go of the key, try testing for spark by pulling it over. if it has spark, i would suspect a worn out ign switch or some dirty/bad grounds. had this happen before on a sled and i cannot remeber how i fixed it but wasn't hard.
