I have a 1998 Yamaha venture 700 triple (red heads). I would like to pressure wash and clean out the engine compartment, over the years it has some spilled oil down in the bottom and just general use and dirt.

But I don’t know what parts or places need to be covered before I hit it with the pressure washer so I don’t get water where it shouldn’t go. Would appreciate any help even if it’s “don’t do it”, ha ha. Thanks in advance. !

I would say just mainly the airbox or stay away from the air intake area. Be smart about it and dont hold the pressure washer wide open at one point.

Needed to replace valve cover seal in my garden tractor .. added some soapy water
to soak in and then washed it with a garden hose ... It still got in my coil and was about
an hour drying out before ran on two cylinders again. Lucky.
I saw damage in tractors caused by people using 1000 plus psi and a few gallon / min..
The water pushes in along shafts past the seals on axles and any control linkages as they
were meant to keep rain out and oil in.
Yes , stay away from air intake letting soap soak a while always helps
Ron
