Was there any changes to the engines from 84-98 years on the phazer 485cc motor?

I don't believe the motor is any different until maybe the Phazer 2 unless they made changes to the stator but you should be able to run the part numbers in the parts fiche online. What are planning on doing?
I purchased a 1998 phazer ss with only 1700 kms on it for cheap but the engine is blown connecting rod has gone out both sides of the bottom end was just looking for a complete engine to install.
85-93 all have same stator, if you can get the harness you should be able to make it work.
98-94 with electric start have same stator.
