I have a '04 SX Viper that I am working on and have a question on the AC values I see while the engine is running. From idle to just below engagement rpm (unable to rev higher than approx. 4000 RPM due to no belt at the moment!) the AC voltage does not raise at all - stays at approx. 7.6 V AC. Checking the DC voltage I have a value of 13.8 so the rectifier/regulator is functioning. Do you have to raise the RPM higher than this to see an increase in AC voltage output?
all checks are supposed to be at 5000 rpm according to manual.
Thanks Maim. I need to toss on a belt and test again. I'm just concerned from watching some videos (4 stroke motorcycle) where it's clear that the higher the RPM, the higher the stator AC output becomes...
