Hey everyone,
2003 sx Viper mountain here, no electric start.
Can the stator handle an LED headlight upgrade?
Saw a youtube video of someone doing it and it seems to work. Youtube video here
Just want to confirm that the stator will handle it long term and that it wont melt the headlight housing.
Here are the bulbs I'm looking at: LED Headlights
Thanks,

Those pull less wattage than standard bulbs, so draw and heat shouldn't be an issue.
I was of the impression these sleds supplied AC voltage to the headlights, and that you'd want rectifiers to convert the power to DC to avoid burning out the LED units. Been gearing up to convert my SXR and that's my plan. The only plug 'n play inline rectifiers I've found are these from Cyclops:
Rectifier for LED Light Module

from what i looked up/brain can remeber, the srx/viper sleds where dc voltage to lights. the led lights will run on ac but they burn out faster than if run on dc. burnt out one on an early 90's ac sled but it did make 5 years before it fried.

02 viper. I have beamtechs in mine. Haven't had an issue for the 2 years they've been in
Awesome! Thanks for the replies guys!
I'll order up the Beamtech's without the rectifiers and cross my fingers.

There are LED headlight bulbs that are AC/DC available now. I am running them in my 90's Phazers and Ventures. Search the following in Amazon.Hey everyone,
