I was wondering what to set my oil pump to on my 1998 vmax 600 xtc twin as it is drinking alot of oil. Looked at the oil pump and at full throttle none of the arms were lining up with the body and I took to boots off the cable and pulled the cable out and mesured with my vernier and it showed 23mm.
I read somewhere that it should be 19-21mm is this correct? Or do I try and line it up with the oil pump body at full throttle?
Also would anyone know the oil pump settings for a 2001 phazer 500 while im at it?

I took off the pump today, checked the drive and the flat tab that goes in the water pump drive was fine, I then adjusted my throttle cable as the gap was 6-7mm on the throttle and I got it down to under 2mm. After that I adjusted my oil pump cable till the line on the last arm lined up with the line on the body of the oil pump while my throttle was wide open. This has left me zero adjustment though and I pulled the cable out of its seat to see how long I had and it was 30mm where previously it was 23mm. Is this good? And is there a way to get more adjustment?
no other way i am aware of for getting more adjustment. as long as arm lines up with the marks it should be fine.
