Hey fellas just looking for some insight on the rear suspension in my 99 venture 136”. My rear suspension does not seem to have any travel at all, at first I thought the shock might be froze up causing it to be stiff but that doesn’t seem to be the case now that it’s warm in the garage. I also noticed that the track is touching the rearmost eyelet of the shock almost as if the suspension is compressed and won’t come back up. Any input would be appreciated!

I should also mention that I’m only 150lbs soaking wet lol so I’m wondering if maybe I need to soften the rear shock up?

that is most likely a 8" travel sled (short travel). the long travel sleds where 11.5" of travel. most of the time it was just replacing the shocks in the rear suspension. you might have some bearings/bushings that are worn out as well. the desireable shocks to make it long travel come off of rx1, sx viper and any sxr sled. straight sx sleds are short travel and all pre 2000 other than srx. there are old posts in here on how to long travel your sled as i think the transfer rod had to move position as well.

the top of the shock is still close on the long travel sleds.
