I was informed the Yamahas Electric Ohlins is adjustable on the fly and can be set in shock mode and left in shock mode to adjust as you are driving the sled with no issues. It will take 1 or 2 cylces of the shock to make the change complete.

Also the seat is going through some refinements and should be top notch when complete ;)!

Also the GYT-R shocks will be offered on all Apex and Attak models and Prior year RX1 and Vectors in the parts catalog.

And the Electric Ohlins will be in the catalog for the Attak as well :)

When I was at Cruiser Fest I really grilled the Yamaha reps about the '06s. I noticed how the pins that hold the storage compartment cover on arent really held on by any sort of tether. I said to the Yamaha rep, "I hope you guys plan on making some kind of change on these on the production unit, if they arent held on by something people are going to constantly be losing the pins." He informed that they were working on a tether to hold the pins on and that because the sled was preproduction and was a prototype, that there would be some fine-tuning done before the production models came out.
I also asked them about shocks. I asked them if the Fox Floats or the GYT-Rs were better. He informed me that the GYT-Rs wre better because they were easier to adjust and resisted fading better than the Fox Floats did. Im not a big fan of the Floats, seems to me like they are a lot of trouble for what little weight they save. They are probably great on the race track but I dont see them as a shock that you would want to deal with on a daily basis. I think that changes in air temp would have an effect on how much "spring pressure" they have from one day to the next.
All in all, the '06s are awsome. Im sure they will clean them up a little. Im hoping that they cover up the wires on the handlebars of the Apex, Attak and Nytro. With the wires exposed they have an unfinished look to them, they certainly arent up to the Yamaha standard.
These pics show you what I mean.

Why do people so often put Ohlins on Yamahas? You almost never see them on any other brand but it seems like thats the offical cool shock for a Yamaha.
Why dont people put on Ryde FX or Fox?

i see what you mean hebi, that was the first thing i noticed when i saw them at the albany show. i'm not crazy about the exposed wires, they remind me of a poo pro x

Oh, well that explains it! Now, "Soki", is that a Japanese company? It sounds very Japanese.

As stated earlier Soqi is wholly owned by Yamaha. Ohlins were the best shocks for the conditions that snowmobiles run in by a significant margin up until a few years ago.

Mr..Sled... care to elaborate a little more on the RTX.. i am going to get one most likely and really can't find anyone who is commenting on this model. Anything else you can add for me?

I really dont think you can go wrong with any of the Apex Models. Some of the guys that tested on the RX1 Forum really like the RTX....the only thing is it wont have reverse...other then that the sled really rocks as well.....If you have any questions ...I will try and answer them....
