I know people from Yamaha read this site. Michigan has the largest contingent of members on this site. We also have the most registered snowmobiles in the USA. Sooooo.......
How about a demo ride session for us??? I know a LOT of TY members would be interested in riding your new machines (myself included) before plunking a big chunk of change down at the dealership. Many of the 06 sleds are NEW, meaning they are nothing like your prevous sleds. I don't think I could justify buying a new sled from a dealer without first riding it. These things cost as much or more than a new car.... and we ALL test drive a car before we buy it, don't we???
How about Grayling or Gaylord? Or the Cadilac/Manton area? Somewhere centraly located???

there is an 06 demo ride in Gaylord, but these are only open to dealers. It was suppose to happen this past weekend, weather permitting.

Only for dealers doesn't do much for Joe Consumer.

I couldn't dump 10k on a new machine with out riding first. Your taking the chance that you wont like some aspect of the machine and then left losing your a$$ on it if you decide to get something else.
Sorry, But so far we have not been invited to anything yet, sorry.

Nope, I wasn't up there. Was up the weekend before. Pat is up there now.... I was invited but just couldn't swing the money. And I still need some one who knows about clutches to look at mine. I'm clueless here.
Oh, and my sled looks a little different.... cracked windshield and some new scratches.... damn ditch!!! Pitched me right off the sled and it rolled over on top of me. Sucked.

Sled, I would say that all the work you have done on this great site makes you more than worthy to ride ANY Yamaha you want.MrSled said:so nick...are you saying I had to kiss butt...LMAO
You and the other moderators work so hard at providing a place were questions can get answered and bull can get shot, and I dont think that you hear it enough, so Im going to say it: "Thank you".
Speaking of riding the '06s. There was a thread on HCS (hardcoresledder.com) about how some guy claims he raced an '06 Nytro with his '99 Cat ZL 600. He claims he lost to the Nytro and asked if he could test ride it and the Yamaha reps told him, "no."
Anyways, someone else posted on that thread saying that they rode an '06 Nytro at the proto ride in Minocqua last week. I think its a bunch of BS myself, the person claims that they own a Polaris RMK and belong to the "Polaris Members" section of HCS (you can join a group to get into a special "tech talk" forum for each brand).
Seems to me that the only ones who would get to ride the protos are the dealers, people from TY and people who have a connection at Yamaha. I doubt this guy was any of those...Its just seemed like some BS to me...
