Ryan still no luck? I will know more in a couple weeks but RedDog has been trying to kill his motor so we can do a real big BB this summer. 800 had some cylinders a few weeks back but I think you know about them.
You run MPI's tunnel right? What size drivers does it fit with the new Cat track? I see you have been fishing for Hammer over on snowest to take the bait, You guys going to get a chance to run against each other yet this year? Your sled must run pretty strong & I would like to see the outcome of the two. Ski was right because after the second time my sled went down I was pissed because I beat the crap out of it the year before w/out problem but the 780 just runs too friggen hard to give up. I think you will like it...... Just make sure you put in a new T-Stat if you have ever overheated.
So what does it take to use the Doo 38mm carbs on the Yami tripple? Carbs vented underhood?

I just got one cylinder for $35 (the guy even paid shipping). I think that spoiled me, because everyone else wants at least $50.
I do have an Ekholm tunnel (same as MPI). I have the 8 tooth 3" pitch drivers (they are a little bigger than regular 9 tooth). I had to gear 19-42 with these drivers, but it seems to work pretty good.
The doo carbs fit pretty good. I could send you a pic if interested. I vented mine under the hood. To make them fit, I used the stock flanges and ground them out for the bigger carbs. For the tps, I bought a Cutler's Performance tps block. The tps block is designed for a cat or polaris tps which rotates opposite direction of the Yamaha tps, therefore I got a polaris tps to use with the tps block, then I had to reverse the two outer wires that go into the plug for the tps. I then adjusted the tps to the same resistance as the yamaha. I also had to build my own throttle cable out of a universal two-into-one cable. I did this using brass round stock, for the ends, and soldered them using silver solder. I feel that there was a pretty good gain with these carbs comparing to sleds that were similar last year. I think they would really work good with the 780 kit.
Anybody know how to get the 780 pistons without going through hauck. They charge way too much ($160 each).
I'd really like to ride with Hammer, but it's a long ways from here (800-900 miles). He seems like one helluva yamaha guy! Maybe next year.
