I have a 98 ? SRX that acts like its getting too much fuel. Also the center plug is wet. It seems to be able to foul the others occaisionally as well. It will not even get to 7000 RPM. Actually have another one doing the same thing. They are owned by 2 car mechanics that service their own sleds. Carbs and airboxes have been off and cleaned.

Could it be the fuel pump diaphram? Does the pulse line go to the middle cylinder?

I have never had an airbox off one off these. Hints??

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

It seems the owner installed the airbox foam on the wrong side of the cleanout tray. With the foam directly over the openings in the top of the airbox the engine dosen't get enough air. When its on top it runs fine.

My first SRX to work on so I didn't notice right away.
