When I left 12/20 they were just starting to get in shape. They had some more rain and snow. If the get a bunch of snow this week they should be decent. Are you from around there? I live in Ca. but have a place there. One of my friends there is putting a new track on my 98 SRX. I also have a 99. Do you go there often? I know just about everybody there. I've been going there since the 50's and owned a place there since the 70's, in fact two of myy best friends own Flanagan's
 
Well, I'll be.........
I'm from Ghent (about 2 hrs south of schroon). I go around 2-3 times a year. (like to go more)One being the fishing derby. I'm been a member of the snowmobile club for maybe three four years. The mother in law has a house next to the body shop. Flanagans sure has good wings.I'll be talking to my mother in law tonight to get a snowfall report(she doesn't know about trail conditions though). Maybe I'll catch ya up there sometime. 96' vmax 600xt.

I'm a member of the club also, in fact I went to the last meeting and donated 20% of the money needed for the drag races. You must have seen my name in the newsletter. Who is your mother in-law? I should know in a couple of days how the trails are, I have to call the guy working on my sled and he'll know. I'm working the fishing derby, so I already have my reservations to come back
 
You sure cover alot of miles. My mother inlaw is nancy dowling, she has the old "Gray Stone Rest" house.
Me and a bunch of guys used to rent The House On The Hill when went icefishing.
Who do I have here?

I'm Jim Robbins. Just about everybody in SL knows me, or at least most of the locals . I used to have the boat on the lake in the 80's, 135mph. I was back there seven times in 03. I am planning about six trips in 04 including working the Fishing derby and coming back for 10 days at super bowel weekend.
 
I heard they got 4" of snow with a bit of feezing rain. Any trail reports? going weds instead of thurs.
 
Well, I'm going to give it a try anyway.They may get a few more inches tonight and weds morning. I'll let you know how I make out. I'll mention your name at Flanagans, maybe I'll get a free cold one(or maybe I'll get kicked out,HA HA HA).

ok ,here it is, the lower trails weren't too bad w/about 4-6" of new snow. Golf course area was about the best. Up the hill was bad. Most trails washed out, under mined from rain/thaw period. We were able to get through,not without getting stuck a few times. It needs about 12-18" of snow to fix . base is about 4" of ice w/the 4-6" on top. Trail 3 wasn't even riddin on with about a foot of snow. I know now why it wasn't used. Bad. I'd say 60% of the trails were ok. Put on 60+ miles. lake was questionable though there were a few shanties on it. After this week it should be good. The lady(didn't catch her name) at flanagans said she new ya.
 
If she was the owner it was Penny, plus Brooke also bartends. I now everybody that works there. I've seen your mother-inlaw at the fish and game club meetings. Right now it is -10. I have three weeks before I go back so I'm sure there will be more snow. My other sled should be finished this weekend. The guy fixing it is the one that has the trailers for slae on route 9, he's a good friend.
 
I'll be going to saranac for my son's hockey tournament on the 30th. I may stop at schroon on the 29th for a family ride. The lady at flanagans had a southern accent. Is there a way to get to flanagans without going on the lake and parking by stewarts? We wound up parking at the school and walking down.
 
Yes that was Penny, good looking women and old friend. I grew up with her husband on the other side of the lake where our parents had camps. Instead of going straight to the school, on the same trail head right and you come through my friends backyard and go up the street and park in Topps parking lot. Thats the only other way besides the lake. You don't like riding the lake? Where do you get on Word of Life or TA? I'll be there the 28 and will be riding for the next week.
 
I don't mind the lake. I just don't like being the first one on it ( didn't see any tracks) . I've been on at the north end by the cabins, fowler, and boat L. TA? Penny said she remembered her ride on the boat (scared to death).

Well do you think the trails are getting better? I see it;s been cold and some snow. In fact I just heard NYC is suppose to get 3-6 and it looked liked north was going to get more. I'll be there on the 28th and will probably ride every day. I have money on the football pools so I'll ride from the club to the bar all day. If you see 1 or 2 SRX's they'll be mine. I think I'm the only one with SRX"s. Have a good one.
