I have to buy a new track next year. Currently have a121 skid with extensions to bring it to a 141x2”. If I’m buying a new track I wouldn’t mind extending it further. I could go 144 or 151. Wouldn’t mind trying a 144x16”. I believe all I have to do is modify some drop down brackets.
I believe I have the HP for more track. I’m running 135hp should be enough?
What do you think?
Also wouldn’t mind putting a lighter skid. Suggestions? How much? Can I put a A/C skid or a skidoo skid?
Thanks,
-Jon

I'm currently running 151 2" on my 01 SXr and for the mountains no problem spinning the track. I'm geared for 130 Ks running a 51 helix and it works great.I don't recomend running 151 or longer using extensions on the 121 rails as its leverage action collapses the suspension on tail landings or longer moguls. The 00 MM rails or different skid is the answer. I'm running a M 10 and am not really pleased with the weight or ride difference, not really worth the expense (3,000 Canadien) or the weight 73 lbs. for a ride slightly better than a well tuned Pro action skid.
As for power spinning that motor at 8800 rpms from the bottom to top isn't an issue even running a 51 helix using MMax weights. Tried the new 05 Rx1 with one exaust pipe, like Climb Max says I'm over my 2 stroke.

How about going to a 16" wide track?
How about going to a 16" wide track?
I found a post on here to a link on snowwest, but the post is no longer up. Is there much to putting a 16" track, other than modifying the drop down brackets?
