HI GUYS,
i PUT AN ELECTRIC VISOR PLUG ON MY SLED IN THE CORRECT PLACE
( ACCORDING TO THE YAMAHA DEALER) AND AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKENDS OF RIDING THE TACHOMETER DIDN'T WORK , (STARTED TO FLICKER THEN STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER), THE HIGH BEAM WORKED FOR A BIT AND THE LOW BEAM DIDN'T WORK AT ALL, THEN THE HIGH BEAM WENT OUT, THE HEATED GRIPS WORK , AND THE BRAKE LIGHT AND TAILLIGHT DON'T WORK, ALSO THE WEEK BEFORE I PUT A 80W/100W BULB IN BUT THE LIGHTS FLICKERED SO I WENT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BULB 55W /60W AND NOW NOTHING WORKS BESIDES THE HEATED GRIPS. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? OR ANY SUGGESTIONS?
THANKS

Could be a regulator failure, ...could also be a harness problem, ...start your sled and pull the harness just forward of the gearbox and see if your tach or lights come on.

NOW HOW WOULD I SEE IF ITS THE REGULATOR OR THE WIRING HARNESS, AND TO GET AT THE WIRING HARNESS DO U HAVE TO TAKE THE MOTOR OUT?

yea definately either a regulator or the harness shorting out.

You should see some wiring harness next to the coolant reservoir and the engine, ...just reach in and grab (gently).

I had the same thing happening last year with my srx7.
I pulled out the harness under the motor, Checked it all and re taped it. No change.
My problem was above the left footwell. The harness was rubbed through on 3 or 4 wires going into the black box. No problems now. You might want to try that before you go buying electical components. I know that my yammy dealer won't let you return electrical parts.
just my 2 cents,

Srx's have an issue with the wires that run under the motor. If you haven't fixed it yet, that is probably the issue. Either way...even if it isn't...fix it now!

well i checked all the wires underneath the motor and the sleeve around the wires was okay with no tear or cracks, then went to the regulator and fiddled with the wires and the lights went on, then off a couple times. the lights were very dim almost unnoticable and hopefully from the lights the power feeds to the tachometer and so on(which didn't work when the ligths went on and off, so i ordered a new voltage regulator and hopefully the problem is fixed. just hoping to get 3 more weeks out of it then get a rx-1
thanks
