Just some background on my issue: takes for ever to spool up coming out of a corner or from a cruise. Grab the throttle and wait for the rpm's to go up. Makes it very difficult to ride curvy trails (or any trail for that matter). Once the rpm's come up, they come fast and the motor will run right on past 8000 rpm with ease. Belt is brand new, might have 100 miles on it, but probably less.
I am very reluctant to take a clutch apart as I have never done so... but I've been looking at them tonight. One question, should the round "rollers" (center of the picture) be loose in there? The are really sloppy, all three of them. So are the little "arms" that seem to run up agianst them. Should they have slop in them? I looked at the main spring and it "looks" fine, but who knows. It's not broken in any place that I can see.
I'm kinda waiting for SpartaSRX to get home from the UP to give me a hand, but can anyone give me some advice on something I might do till he gets home this weekend???

Did you notice the problem after replacing the belt?
...throw the old belt back in and try.

The problem might be your belt deflection. If the belt is riding too low in the secondary its like you are starting out in 2nd gear on a 4-cylinder car.
It also could be that your clutch is due for a rebuild. It could be not shifting right and getting stuck in "high" gear.
Your owner's manual should tell you about belt deflection though. For my Phazer it was supposed to be 0.2mm below the edge of the clutch sheave. I have no idea if your 600 is the same though and I would hate to tell you wrong and end up having you do needless work on your sled.

What's the mileage on that clutch?
There's a good "clutch take apart how to thingy" in the tech pages.

Sled has about 3400 miles on it. belt is JUST below, maybe .10 - .20 below the sheeve. I believe this is just about correct. And the issue is worse with the old belt... bought the new belt (trail prices !!!) in the UP thinking maybe the old belt was just slipping.

I would refurbish that primary.
