Anyone tried 23/40 gearing on a SX 700 with all the cheap mods and 51/43 helix? Do you loose acceleration or gain top end? Just curious!

isnt 51/43 a little steep for a sx?

I was under the assumption that is stock gearing on a sx, i ran stock gearing and a 51/43 and it worked well. I did however have to load my weights up with the free mods as it over revved a bit.
51/43 works great on any Yammie & 23/40 is fine for a rider under 180 pounds.

I ran the exact set up, with 23/40, 8ch with 4.5 both holes, ran very strong, i never did top end runs, set up was for quick acceleration ,off trail riding,with secondary wrapped at 80 or 90. Worked great, very responsive. Im probaly about 170 with gear on.watersuper said:
