Broke the front shock on the rear skid on my 01 SRX yesterday. Snapped it off at the top of the shaft. Anyone else ever have this happen ? I've got the Pioneer Perf. extended shock upgrade on the sled. No fault by Pioneer by any means. I'm sure it was just hard riding, but was curious if anyone else had done this.
For the extended shock upgrades, are they really just converting the stock SRX shocks to Viper shocks ? So I could go find a rear skid front shock from a Viper? Or are they doing more than that to the shocks (re-valving, etc.) ?
Now that I'm thinking about this... When I installed the shock after the upgrade, I installed it as the stock SRX should be with the "body" of the shock mounted to the w-arm. The Vipers have the front shock mounted with the body on the bottom, correct? am I making sense ?

My '02 SRX came from the factory with the shock in the opposite of yours (spring on the top). When I rebuilt it, I turned it around with the spring now on the bottom. I'm not too sure if it makes a difference or not. In either direction, it still has to compress.
