So my wife is riding a 99 SRX600, and started to get a flashcode (7 flashes).

Look in my shop manual and its with the powervalves.

I happen to have a spare servo, so I swap it out.

Start the sled, and adjust idle to below 900 and nothing happens.

Put the servo on another SRX, and do the same thing, and sure enough it moves.

any ideas?

This sled is stock, and has never had an issue before. End of season is coming and we are trying to get out as often as possible.

wiring harness or cdi....

Its one of the 2 things wrong, the wiring harness is rubbed thru and it grounds out the circuit or the cdi box, I have fixed 2 of these in the last month. Pull the harness up from under the engine after you disconnect it from the hood harness, and youll probally see the harness rubbed thru on the white wire with red tracer, use automotive conduit to put back on after repairing the bare section. If this all proves to be good, its the cdi box, the servo motor recieves the signal from the cdi box. Either way, the wiring harness will need to be put into conduit anyways, because they all (srx's)do it at 1 time or another so its not wasted time.
 
checked the valves - they seem fine (will be cleaned during the summer).

Sled has about 5400 km, and we do service our sleds.

We have a rebuilt 600 that had the wireharness under the engine "melt", but will double check it.

will check the cdi box too (I think we have a spare 99 unit somewhere).

those are really the only two things it could be, the wire being rubbed through or the CDI is bad (given that you know the servo is good)
