I just wanted to basically say thanks for being such a great guy to deal with. I drove 5.5 hours from wisconsin each way this saturday to go pick up his SRX. He is a very knowledgable guy, which is hard to find when you are buying a sled from someone. The sled is in very good condition, and judging by the condition of his other property it is obvious to see that he is very meticulous about his stuff. I ended up staying around and just talking for a good hour, mostly about riding in the west, which is something i've always wanted to do. He is definately someone i wouldn't hesitate to deal with again. Thanks again

Thanks for the kind words. It was nice to meet you. If you ever want to make a trip out west just let me know. By next thanksgiving I will be itching to try out the New Apex and will be looking for riding partners. Have fun with the SRX, I know I did. If you ever see my Mt Max up north (the guy plans to trail ride it...Yikes!) let me know if its still in one piece. Later ===SRXSRULE===

I actually had it out on the lake yesterday. Had her up over 120 on speedo and it wasn't quite wide. Our '98 sure as hell wasn't that fast. I had to tighten up the rear spring a lot to get the right sag for me though, guess i'm a little bigger than i thought, lol. You were definately right about the weight transfer, there was some semi-packed powder out there and she wheelies like mad. All good so far

The skid was set-up for my wife. How close was the clutching? I didnt get a chance to ride it after I cleaned them and made a few adjustments. How do you like that track? ===SRXSRULE===

clutching actually seemed perfect. I was wondering about that, did you put a heavier rivet in the outter hole or something because it was revving just about spot on, and it probably will be spot on on the trails, because there wont be any track spin then. Most of the time it was hanging right at 8500, a couple times i saw 8700 but there were a couple areas that didn't have any snow on them, where it was just glare ice. I was just amazed at how it kept pulling and pulling. I love the track, i honestly couldn't believe how well it hooks in that heavy powder. I got the slides nice and hot once, lol, and then cooled them down real quick to cure them, should help them last longer. I had to take off the rearmost wheel kit that was on there because i'm not sure if you even noticed or not but it would only use about 2/3 of its travel because those wheels would hit the carrier wheels on top, and would stop the travel. I noticed that when i was adjusting it (helped to have my 290 pound cousin there), so i was kind of bummed i had to take those off.

oh one thing i was going to ask you about was if you ever noticed a little bit of a ticking noise after you are on it hard and then let off quick and start coasting. I noticed it doing this anytime i would let off if i was going over about 50 mph. At first i thought it was the tips of the lugs maybe grazing the front of the tunnel or the heat exchanger, but it doesn't look like its making any contact. It almost sounds like its coming from secondary. I didn't have much time to look at it yesterday because i had to get back to Screaming Liberalville (Madison), but just wondering if you ever noticed it.

never noticed that sound but I didnt get to ride it after I put the clutching back to stock. See if you can make it do it on a track stand and then maybe you can find where exactly its coming from. let me know ===SRXSRULE===
