I've got a 700sx tripple with hauck/cpr tripple pipes. They seem to fit pretty tight, is this normal? When the hood is down, the rest on the pipes, and it seems the pipe is touching the cowl above the right shock. Could I have something installed wrong?

They are a tight fit. I had to put insulated reflective heat tape in a few places to stop burning my hood.

mine didn't burn my hood at all, but they melted the mag side shock tower. Its real thin there now...

Thanks, I've added quite a bit of tape, just wanted to make sure I had everything right.
now back to my suspension brackets.

Not to get off the subject, but how is the firecat suspension working out, as far as ride comfort and handling.

I had a '99 VMAX 700 deluxe with Hauck triple pipes. I had at least 1 inch of clearance (I used foam to see when it crushed it). They should be the same hood too. Try Calling Hauck.

firecat chassis rides awsome. I now know what I was missing and will be making changes to my warrior. '600' is down at the moment though. My brackets were about an inch too short and the studs were hitting the front heat exchanger and I was at the limits for the track tensioner. I should have new ones (new design) made up shortly. I do have over 100 miles on it and it was a great move. I know that's not many, but it's not my primary sled either.

Thanks for reply. Been looking at putting a firecat suspension in the viper for a while now. Looks like a good summer project.

I'll try to keep track of what I do for bracket measurements if you're interested. When I'm done, I should be able to mount it in any pro-action short track tunnel without drilling.
As for viper suspensions, this summer I will probably be helping my buddy put a mono-shock suspension from a 05 rx in his.

The other option would be to find a mono shock suspension and put it in, but I thought that the mono would be harder to find than the firecat suspension. With the mono I would not have to change tracks and that would be nice.

the monoshock is hard to find. the cat suspension is quite a bit cheaper too.
