here is the engine I bought off ebay for 750 dollars and free shipping I talked to the guy about the engine and why he was selling it. I guess some guy wrecked the sled and this guy got it from him and is trying to make some money from it. This is what he put in the profile for the engine....

looks like a real clean engine. Hopefully it performs as well. That is a good thing that the mechanical seal and bearings were replaced, because the stock ones always seem to be problematic at some point.

i saw that but turned it down. i mean i wish you the best of luck but the thing is is that its sandlbasted, even the ports, and thats bad. if i were you i'd take it apart, at least the cylinders (start with the heads and work your way down to make sure nothing is in there that will get down in the crank case) and check around for sand or other debri before you do anything. if theres any sand in there, watch out, bad news. just take your time and be thorough and she'll be a strong runner in no time. another thing, look for those dy-chem (sp?) kits and try it out to see if it has a crack somewhere as well. some peopel fix the cracks and then blast over to cover it all up. just my 2 cents. hope you enjoy it, they're wicked fun!!!!

yeah, thanks for the point out. I am going to call him tonight and ask him if he sandblasted it prior before he rebuilt it or vise versa. I dont want to take the heads and cylinders off but if it needs to I will? thanks again for the point out

Your #1 performance shop!
You're gonna have to take the heads off regaurdless if they're on the same way it shows in the pictures because someone put them on backwards.

millenium technology's do good work, but I've never heard of them "looking over" a cylinder, normally they just rebuild them (weld, bore and/or coating)
I've heard of midwest crankshaft but don't have any direct experience with them, so I can't vouch for them personally, but aslong as the crank has been welded and has less than 0.003" runout you should be ok.
I'm relieved to see this turning out ok, how did you make out with the 01 bottom end?

srxspec....HOLY THEY ARE ON BACKWARDS...MANN...THAT MEANS I NEED TO REMOVE THE HEADS...OH WELL....YEAH i GOT THE BOTTOM END OF THE 700 AND THE CRANK I RECIEVED HAD A BAD BEARING- I TELL YOU WHAT GUYS IM NOT HAVING GOODLUCK THIS YEAR. I RODE MY SLED A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES(SHORT RIDES). I'M ALMOST READY TO GIVE UP IF THIS DONT WORK.

The cylinders may have been replated..at which point they are usually sandblasted. I'd still go over the whole engine and make sure the rest was put back together correctly. The heads being on backwards do not inspire confidence in their rebuilding abilities. Check for debris, circlips, seals and correct crankcase sealant. I'm sure its all there but its worth the afternoon to make sure its all there correctly.

didn't see a picture there, ya those heads are forsure backwards. that's almost funny, but ya it does say something about who was rebuilding it. I'd dissassemble and check it. millenium traditionally stamp cylinders if they've been recoated, I have some here now I'll take a shot of for you
this will give you something to look for to see if they've been replated.
