i just installed 8 tooth extrovert drivers on my 99 sx 700 it use to have stock 9 tooths now the speedo seems out and i think i am racking up kms on my speedo is there any way to get the speedo back to reading right
Speedo out
You are right, the speedo is faster by 13% and you are racking up 13% more miles than you are actually riding. I am not sure but I think some of the Mountain Max's came stock w/ 8 tooth drivers. If so, then the speedo pick-up under the clutch or the speedo itself must have different gears than yours that came w/ the 9 tooth drivers. You might investigate this idea and see if you can get the part you need.

use the MM speedo drive, the one under the clutch, it's calibrated for 8 tooth drivers.
