Has anyone tried the oil injection kit from bender, the one that injects the oil into the carbs?I was just curious as to whether it was worth the money to install one or if there really was any benefits for trail riders.

I know of two people who have tried them and they both had bad luck (blown motors). I cannot say for sure that they were installed correctly; neither of the guys are idiots and they claimed that they followed the instructions. This is only an opinion; I don't want to slam Bender. I think Dynotech had an article on this topic 2-3 years ago.

You don't need it for trail riding. It is a good idear if you are drag racing.
The idea is when you hammer down the r's jump, but the oil is delayed based on oil line length. The direct kit theory is to have instant response...ful throttle = instant full oil.
IMO this may help if your sled is really radical on on the edge, but 99.9999% of the people dont need it -

yea it cant be that big of an issue when there are plenty of yammys out there going strong with over 20,000 miles on the original bottom end with the conventional injection system

If you want to premix, just run it, and unhook the throtle from the injector pump.
your buds might have burned down because oil in the gas = less gass in the gass (lean)

true, it is harder to push the oil through the jets and circuits in the carbs, especially when the temp is down there, and it will lean out your mixture some.
